2011 First Sail
Congrats to Roger Bast and Randy Marshall for braving the 50 degree water Saturday April 9th and taking the first sail honors this year. Added to their accomplishments, they took home the prize for the first turtle of the season too.
From Randy:
Steve was crossing the dam just in time to watch us capsize into the drink turtle and all. It was Rogers fault...the waves were so big I could barely keep my footing and danced fore and aft on the trap as each swell was knocking me silly and slapping Roger in the face to the point he couldn't see where he was going. Well maybe we should have furled the jib. That said; there was no harm done and Roger took the prize for first capsize two years running. Now that's a genuine honorary WHITE CAP COW GIRL if you get my drift. Trophies are requested and Steve said he might put something together. Maybe you woud like to be creative and present one yourself. Please Don't forget to put my name on for year two. I helped. Possibly a revolving prize?
